New print service for artists
We are launching our new gallery/print on demand service for artists and photographers. This new project was developed in conjunction with Devon based artist Anna Mazek and offers artists and photographers a way to showcase and sell their art on line without the need for carrying large and expensive stocks of prints and canvases or adding an e-commerce facility to their web sites.

Sunshine on my mind - Anna Mazek
How does it work?
First you need to join, this costs £20 a year and entitles you to load 15 images (additional images can be uploaded at a cost of £1 per image).
Once you have uploaded your initial batch of images we create two pages for you, the first one is a listing page on the Octopus Art site which looks like this – Anna Mazek’s listing
The second page is created using header imagery from your own site and is designed to link in with your existing web site. This page has no navigation except for a back button to return the viewer to a page on your site you have designated. The idea of this page is you can promote your work and not have to “compete” with other artists listings, an example of this page type can be seen here – Ally Tate’s personal page
Both pages have a built in shopping cart system which uses Paypal as the payment gateway, this being one of the commonest forms for making online purchases.
Once an order is placed for an artists work, we receive the details and then print the order and send it directly to the customer by first class post or courier.
How do I get paid?:
You will see a list on the upload page of our prices, you are required to fill out a form for each image you upload, one of the entries is % commission you would like to add to our prices, it ranges from 20% – 60%. The price displayed to the public is our costs plus the commission rate you selected.
Once a piece has been printed and dispatched we give the purchaser 14 days grace in case they wish to return it or have any other issues, once this time has elapsed we make payment to the artist via Paypal or cheque if they prefer. Obviously if work is returned for a refund, we cannot make payment to the artist.
